Slate’s discussion of a year in video Games
Posted by Josh in gaming, slate, year in review
Over at Slate.com there is a discussion about the past year in video games. While many (including myself) think this was the best year in video game history, it also saw massive divergence in what made the best games good. How can one even hope to compare Bioshock and Wii sports? Or compare World of Warcraft to Desktop Tower Defense (as one commentator does)?
My pick for game of the year has to go to to Wii Sports, though I have been way behind my video game playing this year because of work so I haven’t played Bioshock or Halo 3.
What about you, what is your pick for game of the year? Is this the best year for gaming ever?
Head over and read the Slate column for some glorious pedantry and to see the philosophical meanings behind Rock Band.
