They really are the Greatest Generation

The meme circulating the interwebs right now is that the Library of Congress has posted 3,000 photos up on their flickr site. This is out of a potential 14 million images the archives has stored. The photos up right now have no known copyright protection and the library is hoping that people will use flickr to tag and sort them, which people are going with Gusto. After doing my due diligence and sorting through some old photos, I have come to realize one thing…

I highly recommend checking out the collection, and not just for the eye candy. It has some amazing historical shots, and I am all for the Government opening up its archives to the masses.
