Multiplex Madness: Rambo. John Rambo. John Elizabeth Rambo.

Opening this week:
Rambo
(RT score: 32%) Are you a First Blood fan who’s just yearning for something a little more… topical? Stallone asked the United Nations what the most war-torn, strife-filled area on the globe was, and after The View told him he couldn’t shoot a movie on their set, he headed for the second best place: Burma / Myanmar. (Can we all agree to just call it Myburmar?) Word on the street is that Rambo is not just terrible, but filled with enough explicit gruesome violence to make Mel Gibson squirm.
How She Move
(RT score: 67%) Face it: we live in an America where “Dance-Off” is a film genre that has its own shelf at Blockbuster. As far as I can tell, all the positive reviews are from critics too afraid to say they didn’t like something ethnic AND girl-powery. Well, count me in – How She Move is the most stomptastic feel good movie of the year!
Untraceable
(RT score: 13%) The calls are coming from inside your house! That’s because you’re home, doing anything but seeing this garbage movie about Internet murders or something stupid. Good choice.
Meet the Goddamn Spartans
(RT score: -1%) No, I’m not kidding – as of right now, Spartans has -1% on Rotten Tomatoes. The perfect time to try out Otis Redenbacher’s new line of cyanide laced popcorn.
What you should probably go see instead:
It seems amazing that anything could give No Country for Old Men a run for its money as far as incredibly tight filmmaking goes, but Tony Gilroy does it with Michael Clayton. This one’s as good as corporate suspense films get, and has some pitch perfect performances from George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, and the always great Tom Wilkinson, all of which have been honored with Oscar noms.
Best parental advisory of the week:
Advisory: This violence contains a movie, but only intermittently. Mainly, it’s all violence.
