It is a Father’s Day week in review! We came back from a too-long vacation and roared into the beginning of the week, but then we slacked off and really failed to close. That, my friends, is what she said.

• We got a new generation of the iphone. Can world peace be far behind?
• Jeff did his first style post!
• We leveled with you, TV this summer is going to be brutal.
• There is a new Sigur Ros album! I don’t like them as much as Jeff does but I thought it was funny he referenced the shorts from Monday.
• Going into tonight’s game it looks like the Celtics have things pretty well wrapped up. I am a complete bandwagoneer, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t appreciated some great basketball.

Don’t forget to call you Dad and Granddad and have a great rest of your weekend.

I meant to post a note Monday, and Jesus it is already Thursday. I guess that is what happens when you start experimenting with bathtub gin.

Anyway, we are taking a little blogging break to get some affairs in order and to take a much-needed vacation - but we will be back next week invigorated and ready to blog up a storm.

This week went by FAR to slowly, perhaps because I spent the whole time counting down to this Monday, when a new season of American Gladiators comes back. It will have new events, new gladiators and the same rampant fanboyism from Jeff and me. Expect a more complete preview tomorrow.

But how else did we spend our time this week?

• A little more than a week ago we were enjoying the Kentucky Derby - and then spent most of Monday feeling bad for enjoying it.
• Indiana and North Carolina voted, and Senator Obama has pretty much wrapped up this election - partly due to massive youth turnout.
• I began plotting my vengeance against Ryan Reynolds.
• Sure, we are all broke, but at least we talk about it!
• If you can’t afford a PS3, at least you can get in on hating on the GTA IV critics.

Ah, crap, we’re watching Crash. It’s too late for us now, but you all can take a look at some of the week’s finest:

• Our bacon obsession emerges, and even gets noticed by our favorite blog ever, Dethroner.
• Both of our columnists showed up in style, with Chris embarking on a powerful, Heart of Darkness journey into Central Park, and Greg begins the painful and highly experimental process of becoming bicoastal.
• Lindsay Lohan got nekkid, and we all needed a cold shower.
• Obama mia! Eh? Eh?

Enjoy the Oscars tonight.  Dig our liveblog.  Word.

So I go away for a few days and look what happens. The place is a mess, there isn’t any food left, and… Is that a goat?
