Lohan Revealed

Lindsay Lohan is recreating an apparently famous 1962 photoshoot of Marilyn Monroe for New York Magazine.
From the magazine:
The pictures are also remarkable for the raw truths they seem to reveal. In them, we see an actress whose comedic talents were overshadowed by her sex appeal, a woman who is cannily aware of her pinup status, yet is also beginning to show her 36 years. In many shots, she is obviously drunk. This was an unhappy time for Monroe.
I am beginning to suspect Marilyn Monroe is an elaborate practical joke on our generation, as apparently everything she did was “important.” Up next: Ellen Page in a dramatic photoshoot recreating Marilyn Monroe’s “Last Slurpee.”
That aside, I am curious what these photos mean. On the one hand, this is a girl who has had some ups and downs, and this bold and provocative photo shoot could be the beginning of a comeback (even though her reasoning for doing the photo shoot is less than eloquent). On the other hand, this could just be the next step in our exploitation of Lohan and the next phase of her breakdown. On the other other hand, boobies!

Given all the various Lohan body parts we’ve been exposed to through so many paparazzi photos, maybe this is her way of taking her body back, naked on her own terms, like a black man using the word “nigger.” Or maybe it’s just boobies.
