People on the East Coast are STILL talking about yesterday’s weather. The key for chatter today will be having a story about that bitchen walk you took yesterday. However, there are some stories kicking around.
BREAKING — The Associated Press is reporting that Senator Hillary Clinton and senator Barack Obama are… kinda the same!! The article details how the two have very few differences in most major policy areas. This might be a fun one to e-mail to your friends who are hardcore partisans for either candidate.
American Airlines cut flights yesterday, are cutting more flights today, and will probably cut more flights over the weekend. If this comes up at the office make loud noises of sympathy for anyone you know who has to travel at any point in the next month.

Petraeus may or may not still be speaking, but it is like the 3rd day of a music festival, you are well into the filler acts, you don’t have any clean clothes lets, and Ted Kennedy has been passed out in your tent for 16 hours. However, that hasn’t stopped the President from gearing up to make his festival announcement. The president is expected today to announce that Army tours will be cut from 15 months to 12 months. But don’t think this is a sign that our troops might get a break, this is just a necessary change so that we can stay in Iraq even longer without totally decimating our armed forces – imagine it as shifting from 4th to 5th gear.
Bad news for anyone trying to come home from Petraeusstock – American Airlines has canceled 1100 flights yesterday and are expected to cancel at least 900 more today. The flights have been grounded for maintenance because the FAA decided to get all huffy and start actually doing its job. They started inspecting planes and it became apparent that the entire American Airlines fleet was held together with twine, chewing gum, and prayer.
Yahoo is becoming the belle of the ball. We have talked before about the ongoing saga of Microsoft’s attempted takeover of the Internet giant, but yesterday saw several new players enter the game. Yahoo has entered a trail partnership with Google and is now Yahoo is in talks with AOL to combine internet operations. Microsoft, on the other hand, is now getting Newscorp involved for a joint bid. If someone asks you about it, it is safe to bet that Yahoo is using these partnerships to drive up Microsoft’s asking price (that hussy). However, don’t talk about this via e-mail because one or all of the companies I mentioned in this paragraph probably scans through your e-mail on a regular basis.
