The best $5 you can spend in Los Angeles on alternating Monday nights would of course be Human Giant performing at the UCB Theatre. Tonight’s show featured a most excellent live DVD commentary on Rambo featuring, among others, Stallone’s fluffer. Nice.

Unrelatedly, I’m not so sure about the fifth season of The Wire so far (couple episodes in). Just throwin that one out there.
The Mighty Goog went and did it again: Google Earth is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and it is slick. Just like on the desktop version, you have full control to zoom, pan, tilt and fly around a little nicely textured globe, along with bumpy terrain and geographic web hooks into Wikipedia and Panoramio.
Also just like the desktop version, you’ll probably go back to Google Maps for any real location searches or directions assistance. As seen here, my search for In-n-Out is something less than useful.
At the end of the day, Google Earth might not be much more than a killer multitouch demo app and fun as hell – but there’s nothing wrong with that. And it’s free!
Senator Clinton and Senator Obama met in Ohio last night for what will likely be the final debate of the Democratic primary. This was the most confrontational of the debates and the candidates sparred over a variety of issues, including health care, foreign policy, and NAFTA. Senator Clinton needed to knock Senator Obama off his stride, and while she dominated the debate it doesn’t appear that she made anything stick. If the debate comes up at work and you are unsure who the person you are talking to is supporting, it is always safe to criticize the moderators, who were their usual bizarre selves. Some examples of the moderators drinking problems where convoluted hypotheticals on Iraq and a question about rejecting the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan. Thank GOD I know where they stand on that. You can check out a full debate transcript, but I have no idea why you would want to.
