This 2500-year-old dude is more relevant than Dr. Phil

A recent PsyBlog post features some Confucian principles to help you live a happy, fulfilled life, and it sounds like this Confucius guy might have a couple good ideas.
While it can be easy to dismiss some of these concepts as no duh (I mean, even McDonalds is telling me to “Live healthily” these days), they apply directly to the life of a modern day 2.0something: thorough interaction with others, self-education, frequent change. Plus, unlike those obnoxious Taoists and Buddhists, Confucius says there’s nothing wrong with enjoying that iPod you worked your butt off for:
Confucianism recommends a devotion to your occupation. The wealth earned from working is also seen in a positive light within Confucianism.
Sounds like the ol’ guy owns Wall Street on DVD. Right on.
