The best $5 you can spend in Los Angeles on alternating Monday nights would of course be Human Giant performing at the UCB Theatre. Tonight’s show featured a most excellent live DVD commentary on Rambo featuring, among others, Stallone’s fluffer. Nice.

Well, I’m sure FX will have a good movie for us to highlight ton– what the? Maid in Manhattan, back to back? What luck! Well, just in case you already have MiM on DVD:
8:00 – The Iron Giant (HBO Family… West)
I am sick and tired of people yapping about Ratatouille. “Oh, it should have won best picture, it had the most heart of any film this year.” Cram a sock it it. The story was straight out of a mid 90′s Disney crapfest, with little hints of culinary interest as bait for the mindless yuppies who want to show that they’re not above a kid’s film.
9:30 – Back to You (FOX)
After lifting the same workplace situation as the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Back to You seems content to start cribbing plots as well. I’m sure no matter how much hilarity they try to wring out of a funeral setup, it won’t be as good as this classic.
10:00 – Quarterlife (NBC)
Hey guys, it’s a show about what twenty-somethings are really like! I bet they’ve got iPhones and blue jeans and everything.
Late Night
Letterman is about as varied as you can get: Courteney Cox Arquette, the NYTimes‘ Thomas Friedman, and Chingy feat. Ludacris. We wish that Dennis Quaid‘s last name was Scrabble eligible, but we’ll have to settle for him being on Leno. Conan has tae kwan do expert Will Ferrell, the hilarious and hairy Rashida Jones, and stunningly beautiful Fred Simmons. On second look, I may have mixed those up.
