Quiet, you: Rocky, Bullwinkle & Company streaming online

peabody

Hello there.  Peabody here.  This is my boy, Sherman.

“Mister Peabody, it sure is amazing we can stream the first season of Rocky and Bullwinkle on Hulu anytime we want!”

Quiet, you. These good people wouldn’t be interested without Fractured Fairy Tales and the adventures of yours truly.

“But Mister Peabody, they’re all included!”

Very well.  I suppose that makes it Hulu for nous.

“Mister Peabody, that’s not even a pun.  Also, I made a mess on the living room carpet.”

That’s a bad boy, Sherman.  Bad boy.

Real life teevee stars hit the intertubes!

Posted by Jeff in , , , , , , ,

Remember the great Writers Guild Strike of aught-seven/aught-eight?  Come on, sure you do.  Letterman had a creepy beard!  Really?  No?

Well, while picketing, a bunch of those dirty Hollywood liberals decided to band together and try and get a handle on this newfangled new media webisodes thing, and the result is hitting the tubes today: Strike.tv.

The Daily Show‘s Aasif Mandvi and SNL‘s Kristen Wiig play star crossed lovers in Global Warming, The Office‘s Mindy Kaling gets her own reality show in House Poor, and Bob Newhart breaks into the digital age with The Challenge.  But my favorite of the bunch?  Character actor Bob Clendenin is stalked by his state of the art car concierge in Daryl from OnCar.

Internet video killed the television star

Posted by Jeff in , , , , ,

File this under “it’s about time” – MTV has launched MTVMusic.com, a big, easily accessible repository of music videos from past and present.

Take a fun trip down memory lane – remember when Eminem was new and controversial?  When Radiohead was keeping weird secrets?  When Dire Straits was the epitome of special effects?

Though the site is pretty bare bones and nothing particularly nice to look at, at least there’s finally somewhere to watch music videos again – at least until MTVMusic.com becomes filled with The Hills reruns.
