Yeah, yeah, they’ve been showing it nonstop, but what’s better than Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd shrooming their way through Cirque du Soleil?
8:00 – NBA Draft Lottery (ESPN)
Let’s take a break from exciting playoff basketball action for some exiting probably rigged lottery action. The NBA: Where cheating happens.
9:00 – Reaper (CW)
It’s the Reaper season finale, and Sam must decide whether his best friend lives… or dies. And no, his best friend is not a talking pie.
Late Night
Harrison Ford tries to crack a bull whip without breaking his hip on Letterman, Sly Stallone wonders if it’s too late to turn Get Carter into a classic Stallone franchise he can revive for a quick buck on Leno, Denis Leary reminds us that, really, he’s an “actor” these days on Conan, and the Comedy Central duo remain on vacation.
I feel bad, I forgot to remind everyone to watch American Gladiators last night, and they go and have terrible ratings. And now look at poor Titan. NEVER AGAIN.
9:00 – Reaper (CW)
I don’t remember ever typing (CW) before. Anyway, this is a Josh pick, I guess it has something to do with grain harvesting.
9:05 – Maria Full of Grace (IFC)
In case your evening didn’t have enough horrific abortion, IFC has your back.
9:30 – South Park: “Casa Bonita” (Comedy Central)
An amazing, incredible, classic episode.
Late Night
Regis is on Dave, Evangeline Lilly is on Jay, Steve Carrell is on Conan, John Cusack is on Craig, Bill Moyers is on Jon, and some Titanic lady is on Colbert.
There, now you’ve seen everything you need to see in
8:30 pm EST – Saturday Night Live: The Best of Alec Baldwin (NBC)
But I may tune in anyway and marvel at why no one realized his comedic potential long before 30 Rock.
8:00 pm EST - American Idol (FOX)
I know, I know, but my new roommate loves Idol and as a result I have been watching for the first time ever. It is actually pretty good! At least, I can see why it is a cultural juggernaut. Tonight is Neil Diamond night, which means The Diamond Cutter himself will be on hand to coach the contestants in his songs. Will the person who gets “Sweet Caroline” wear a Red Sox hat? Maybe a surprise appearance from David Spade? Can’t we think of a better nickname for Neil?
9:00 pm EST – Reaper (CW)
So it wasn’t until doing today’s OMG TV that I realized Reaper was even back on the air. Man that show is going to get canceled. Apparently I only missed one episode, but still, if I forgot about it then who could possibly be watching this thing. Check it out — please? This guy is awesome as the devil. And this girl is really hot as the annoying best friend/love interest.
Late Night
Letterman has Robert Downey Jr and Leno has Dr. Phil, there might have been a hilarious joke about those two guests 10 years ago, but now Downey has his shit together and is a much more boring interview. Furguson has Kathy Griffin and Conan has Jeff Garlin (imagine that baby? ewww). And finally, Stewart has Newt Gingrich and Colbert has Anne Lamott.
Sorry for the erratic posting gang, I got one of those “jobs” you hear so much about. However, things are hitting even keel so things will pick up next week.
After enduring WEEKS of jabs both on the blog and off, I FINALLY get to do a TV post on a Thursday, which means I get to decide what shows you should read about and then not watch tonight.
9:00 pm – LOST (ABC)
Of course, I finally get to say you should watch LOST and rub in Jeff’s face how it is still quite good, but I haven’t watched it in three weeks and won’t tonight because I am behind — thus vindicating many of Jeff’s criticisms. However, I did swear openly (and during my 4th day at work) when I saw that Michael is back. Awesome.
7:00 pm EST – NCAA Basketball (CBS)
Sure, OK, I couldn’t find where to drop off my brackets for the office pool, but that doesn’t mean I still won’t watch Brigham Young vs. Texas A&M… There are some other games too. We are actually looking forward to USC vs. Kansas State.
8:00 pm – Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (BBC America)
Man, I am getting to endorse all of the shows I like that Jeff doesn’t tonight. Chef Ramsay overhauls restaurants that are on the brink of failure. You learn more about what it actually takes to be successful than you ever would from Top Chef.
9:00 pm – Reaper (CW)
You have never heard of this show and never will again because it is on its way to being canceled. College dropout Sam finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil. The devil (played astounding by Ray Wise) recruits him to track down souls that have escaped from hell and acts as his life coach/mentor. For my money it is the most complicated and interesting portrayal of the Prince of Darkness this side of Milton.
Late Night
Letterman is a rerun and Leno and O’Brien apparently just think they are as they have John Edwards and David Schwimmer respectively.
