Your Morning News 3.6.08

Today is undoubtedly a slow news day. Most of the papers have an analysis of how the Democratic primary race has been changed (or unchanged) by Senator Clinton’s victories Tuesday. Additionally, the Washington Post details that even success hasn’t stopped the Clinton campaign’s infighting.
Karl Rove has a great Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal going over the ins and outs of the race. It is written not from a partisan perspective but as a political junkie and it is apparent that Mr. Rove’s primary mode of writing is via Blackberry. This is a must read for those interested in the race. But otherwise just skip it.
There is some article I don’t really understand on the ongoing development of a national crime-fighting database. I guess local, state, and federal police are all finally linking their offender databases to make detecting patterns or similarities among crimes and criminals easier. The ACLU part of me wants to get worked up, but I am honestly surprised that this didn’t already exist.
Finally, a small explosion has hit Times Square near an Army recruiting station. The explosion occurred early this morning and no one was hurt.
