If you’re like me, you feel inadequately trained for your job. In fact, you feel even less trained for other peoples’ jobs. Well, Watercooler Films has done us the favor of posting a series of 80′s training videos from the supermarket chain Publix. And they are amazing.
There’s nothing quite like listening to eight solid minutes of old people chattering to each other about their boring trip to the store, and, luckily, that’s exactly what “For The Older Customer: YOU Can Make The Difference” provides. As the old crank says, “I like the girls that pass out the free samples.” That’s a sentiment we can all get behind.
But then there’s “A Day in the Life of Maxwell Cart,” embedded after the jump. Listen in as a group of anthropomorphic cash registers and shopping carts unwind after a stressful day, and then get confronted by the fact that Cart Related Accidents caused $13,691 worth of damage in 1981, $15,172 in 1982, and a whopping $??,???.?? in 1984. The truth is powerful. Keep reading
While real Italians would never serve spaghetti and meatballs on the same plate, we must sheath our Mediterranean food snobbery in recognition of the fact that it’s a damn tasty dish, no matter how it’s served. It’s a simple dish that we hope becomes part of your repertoire, but like most simple dishes, it is founded on attention to detail. First, find yourself quality tomatoes (you can’t go wrong with anything that says Product of Italy and/or San Marzano on the label). Second, make sure you cook your pasta — and this is imperative — perfectly. This means monitoring your spaghetti as it cooks. Once you hit the 4 minute mark, begin tasting every fifteen seconds. The difference between al dente, blah, and mush is a matter of seconds (and never rinse your pasta — you’ll wash away all that glorious starch).
On the meatball side of things, the ingredients can vary according to taste and indeed, we encourage you to experiment. We like lamb for its intensity, even in small doses, but you could just as easily use pork, veal of beef. The only bit of advice here is to use equal parts bread and meat. Keep in mind, meatballs, or polpetti, were created as a way to stretch leftover ingredients. While our wallets and meatballs may be fatter here in America, nobody likes a dense meat sphere on their plate. Balancing it with bread ensures a light, airy result.

This is making the rounds, and there is a good chance you saw it already. However, it is too awesome not to post. Original is from Realplayer OnlineYahoo Movies.
Any criticism that you can raise against the trailer is probably totally spot on. However, based on the commentary I have seen, criticisms are being washed away in a big wave of awesome. We will see as more of the movie and plot are revealed. As long as Shia LaBeouf is nothing but a foil for Indyisms I am sold. Almost as cool as the trailer is that the Yahoo site has the trailers for the original Indian Jones Movies.
